Simmtronics Semiconductors has launched the cheapest tablet PC made entirely in India. According to the company's Managing Director they have already sold 25,000 units and aim to sell 20,000 units a month.

They intend to increase manufacturing capacity to 600,000 tablets a month, from the current 300,000 units.

The company also sells its brands to Micromax Karbonn, and Airtel as well as exporting its products to Europe and South Africa.

Veteran actor Rajesh Khanna, who recently has been in and out of hospital, passed away at his home Ashirwad today in Mumbai.

The actor had been unwell for quite some time now and his health had been a matter of great concern for his friends and family.

He was admitted to a city hospital on July 14, just a few days after he was released from the same hospital, owing to weakness. He was discharged on earlier this week.

His estranged wife, actress Dimple Kapadia, and daughter Rinkie had been by his side all the time, since his admission to hospital.

Khanna is hailed as India's first superstar after 15 consecutive solo superhits between 1969 and 1972, including 'Aradhana', 'Haathi Mere Saathi', 'Anand' and 'Amar Prem'.

Rajesh Khanna had recently appeared in his first TV ad for a brand of fans.

Air India is to use its assets including priceless paintings, sculptures and prime property to ease its financial bind that includes accumulated losses and loans of around Rs.67,520 crore.

A company official said plans are underway to rent out some of the art collection and the iconic Nariman Point headquarters in Mumbai. A consultant will catalogue and evaluate the works of art that include paintings by M F Husain, exotic wood carvings, centuries old sculptures and other authentic artifacts. The art works may also be rented out to galleries around the world before they are sold. Renting the art and the building is expected to fetch around Rs.100 crore annually.

Currently 2 floors in the headquarters are rented out to Tata Consultancy Services and one floor is rented out to other small offices. Air India will retain the top three floors of the building. Company executives will be moved to Air India's Delhi offices.

Apart from unloading assets, the government earlier approved a turnaround plan and a financial restructure plan for which it will receive around Rs.30,000 crore worth of equity infusion over a period of nine years.

Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal at a public meeting in Rewari, accused 15 UPA ministers of being steeped in corruption and said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh "too is not completely untainted"

He continued, saying had the Jan Lokpal Bill been enacted by Parliament all the corrupt minister at the Centre would have been behind bars.

He demanded the establishment of fast track courts for the disposal of cases related to corrupt MPs be decided within six months.

After arrests were made for the stripping and molesting of a girl in a busy area in Guwahati, Assam's DGP Jayanta Narayan Chowdhury who was slammed for delayed action, made the statement that police can't be present instantly," they are not an ATM machine that acts the moment one inserts a card in the machine".

The remark was seen as insensitive by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram who said no one should make light of an incident of molesting a woman or a child, and condemned the remark. He plans to get in touch with Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi over the incident.

The National Commission for Women chairperson also slammed the state police for the remark and condemned the police delay in taking action against the rapists and molesters.

Social networks were flooded with angry reactions as to why the amateur video was uploaded on YouTube and the victim's identity revealed.
